Finally back on track!

Well, here I am again - back on track and running again. I am so happy about it. It was high time to do some damage control after the summer!

The great news is my girlfriend joined WW with me. She only has 10 - 15 pounds to lose, but it is great to have someone there that I have a hoot with. We go for a run after weigh-in. She already does 5K three times a week, so she is slowing down for me. Hopefully we will both be running 5k together soon enough!

I am hoping for a loss at the scales tomorrow night. I would like to be back to a healthy, fit weight again.

I was at a birthday lunch with my girlfriends last week and we were talking about our bodies and complaining about thighs, baby bellies, saggy boobs etc... One of them just shook her head and said, "You know, it's really sad that we are so down on ourselves. There is nobody here who is really overweight." Another said, "Yeah, twenty years from now, we will be wishing for the bodies we have now." It really hit home with me that I need to stop complaining about every little thing concerning my body. I remember in public school feeling down because I thought my thighs were chubby. (I was tall and skinny.) Discontentment with my image has haunted me my whole life. Well, no more! My goal is not to be skinny and hot. My goal is to be healthy and fit. I will be thirty in March. I want to enjoy my health and body during this next phase on my life.

So, back to WW, back to eating healthfully, back to a regular exercise routine, and back to being in control of this body of mine! :) I have come to realize that this is not something I will be doing for 12 weeks. It's going to be a lifetime thing. I'm resigned to that now and I will keep on keeping on! :)

Glad to be back! Can't wait to get reading your blogs again!

Cheers,
Stacie

Ya Hoooo! Your back! :) Great to read your blog again.... I really liked your post as it really takes things in to perspective.

I will be on the running train here shortly as soon as my heel is good enough to wear runners. :) It is really great that you have someone to run with now.

Take care!!!
